Hopa Form

The Housing for Older Person Act was signed into law on December 28, 1995 by President Clinton. The HOPA provides housing for older persons and is intended for occupancy by at least one person 55 years of age or older per unit. It requires that periodically information must be collected and verified with the age of all residents. Under NJ Law, a letter regarding age is required to be filed with the deed.

It is a Federal requirement for Senior Communities to have documentation on file, that the home occupants are 55+ years old.

It is mandatory that you complete this form and return to the Association office immediately.

This MANDATORY form must be completed and returned to the Association Office no later than May 31, 2025. If the form is not in the Office on or before the deadline (May 31, 2025), a fine of $25 will be imposed. Each additional month not received will incur an additional $25 until the form is received and accepted by the office.
